More than 90 personnel from the Criminal Assets Bureau and An Garda Síochána were involved in a day of searches in Kerry yesterday.
Over €200,000 and items of evidential value including electronic devices and documents, were seized during the operation, which began early yesterday morning.
Gardaí say the searches targeted the assets of an individual suspected of involvement in drug trafficking, but it’s understood the individual is also suspected of having links to an organised crime group.
CAB officers conducted the searches under warrant at residences and business premises in the county, assisted by Kerry gardaí, the Armed Support Unit, and the Customs Dog Unit.
Radio Kerry understands up to a dozen properties were searched, including in multiple rural locations and in Tralee town centre.
Investigations are ongoing.
