Minister urges early years staff to apply for state funding programme to study in MTU Kerry

The Children, Disability and Equality Minister is urging early years staff to apply for state funding to study in MTU Kerry.

Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, Norma Foley says the Nurturing Skills Learner Fund will cover 90 per cent of the course fees for early years staff who undertake a degree course.

The scheme is co-funded by the European Union through the EIST programme; and aims to achieve a graduate-led workforce in early learning and care services by 2028.

Minister Foley says the fund gives those who work in the sector greater opportunities, without the financial burden:

Meanwhile, Minister Norma Foley admits housing figures are not good, but government is making progress.

Earlier this week, opposition parties accused the government of deliberately misleading the public on housing figures.

It's after Sinn Féin claimed the Public Expenditure Minister knew the coalition wasn't going to deliver 40 thousand homes, but fell short by 10 thousand.

Minister Foley says the government exceeded its targets in 2022 and 2023, and housing remain its number one concern:
