The Minister for Children, Disability, Equality and Kerry T.D Norma Foley has welcomed the approval from trade union members at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) to fund Health, Social Care and Homeless sector employers.
Up to 40,000 workers in these sectors will see a pay increase of 9.25% - equal to the current Public Sector Agreement 2024-2026.
The agreement recognises that staff in these sectors should be fairly paid and recognised for the vital work they do.
The deal amounts to an increase of around €140m per annum in additional investment for these organisations to support delivery of their services and supports.
Minister Foley is encouraging organisations eligable to apply to their relevant funding bodies for their workers to receive the backdated pay increases.
