Minister Norma Foley says she took part in two media training sessions with broadcaster Ivan Yates.
There's been controversy around the former Fine Gael minister giving media training to Fianna Fáil presidential candidate Jim Gavin.
During the election, Ivan Yates suggested that Fine Gael should 'smear the bejaysus' out of the winning candidate Catherine Connolly but never mentioned his role with Fianna Fáil.
Children's Minister Norma Foley was one of six Fianna Fáil cabinet ministers to get such training.
A statement to Radio Kerry said her communications engagements with Ivan Yates took place prior to the General Election last year and amounted to three hours.
Minister Foley, a Fianna Fáil TD for Kerry, says she has had no further engagement with Mr Yates other than this.
