An Ireland South MEP has called on Kerry County Council to use EU law to employ more people with disabilities.
Michael McNamara has urged the local authority to take action to implement Article 20 of the EU’s Public Procurement Directive.
The independent MEP says the council has not integrated these provision and inaction risks falling behind on its social inclusion, employment activation and sustainable local development commitments.
MEP McNamara says Kerry County Council needs to act now to develop clear, transparent policies to operationalise Article 20 locally.
