The Mayor of Tralee says the opening of a section of the Northern Relief Road will alleviate a lot of traffic congestion in the town.
1.2km of the route was officially opened this morning, which includes adjacent walkways and cycleways.
It runs from Forge Cross Roundabout to the newly-constructed roundabout at Listellick on the Tralee to Abbeydorney road - with links to the Tralee bypass and MTU Kerry.
Labour councillor and Mayor of Tralee Terry O’Brien believes it’s an important development for the town.
He says it’s vital that the next section of the route, linking Bracker O’Regan Road, is completed as quickly as possible.
