A young man who climbed to the top of Ballybunion's famous castle yesterday evening had to be rescued by fire crew.
The alarm was raised just before 6 o'clock when the man climbed the 40-foot castle from the Ladies's beach side.
However, on reaching the top, he was unable to make his way back down.

One unit of the Ballybunion Fire Service was tasked to the scene, along with an ambulance.
Ladders were used to bring the man to safety, and it's understood he did not need medical assistance.
