A man who’s running a marathon in every county of Ireland to raise awareness about a rare dementia condition, will be in Kerry on Sunday.
Jordan Adams’ late mother Geraldine was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, or FTD, when she was 47 years old, and she passed away in 2016 at age 52.
The type of dementia which Jordan’s mother had is hereditary and both Jordan and his brother Cian carry the faulty gene which causes it.
This means they have a 99.9% chance of contracting FTD, which often starts between the ages of 45 and 65.
Jordan has been running consecutive marathons in every county of Ireland to raise money and awareness, and will run one around Killarney on Sunday, where he’s hoping to see a big crowd in support.
