A man charged with the possession of over 20 "deal bags” of cannabis has been remanded on bail.
32-year-old Silviu Batranu of Parklands, Ivy Terrace, Tralee appeared before Judge Monika Leech at Tralee District Court.
He faces charges of possession of cannabis for sale or supply and money laundering at his address on August 25th 2024.
Sergeant Chris Manton told the court that cannabis to the value of €1,600 was located in 21 separate “deal bags”, while almost €1,500 in cash was seized.
Mr Batranu also faces charges of cannabis possession, and possession of cannabis for sale or supply in relation to a separate incident at New Marion Park, Tralee on July 10th this year.
Sgt Manton told Judge Monika Leech that the DPP has directed summary disposal on two charges, while further directions are awaited for the remainder.
The Judge accepted jurisdiction in the case and remanded Mr Batranu on bail to appear before Tralee District Court on September 17th for DPP directions.
