A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with a traffic crash in Tralee early this morning.
A cyclist in his 40s was seriously injured in the incident, which involved a bicycle and a car on the Oakpark Road shortly after 7am.
The cyclist was taken to University Hospital Kerry (UHK) with serious injuries, but no one else was reported injured.
The R878 between the Forge Cross Roundabout and the Racecourse Road was closed for several hours this morning, but has since reopened.
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the investigation.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, including anyone with footage of the Oakpark Road area between 6:45 and 7:15am today.
