Man arrested as part of investigation into death of elderly man in South Kerry

A man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the death of an elderly man in South Kerry.

In July, a man, aged in his 70s, was found unresponsive outside a premises on Church Street in Kilgarvan.

This man was later pronounced dead.

Yesterday, Gardaí arrested a man, aged in his 60s, and he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The man has since been released without charge.

Gardaí say a file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí say the investigations are ongoing.
