Gardaí say they’re investigating all circumstances surrounding an unexplained death of a man in Kilgarvan.
At around 4 o’clock this morning, gardaí were notified of a man, aged in his 70s, who had been found unresponsive outside a premises on Church Street in the village, and had subsequently been brought to University Hospital Kerry.
The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Gardaí say the state pathologist and the local coroner have been notified, and a post-mortem examination has been arranged.
The outcome of this post-mortem will determine the course of the garda investigation.
Gardaí say the scene at Church Street in Kilgarvan is currently preserved, and investigations are ongoing.
