A man was arrested last night following the seizure of around €170,000 worth of drugs in Listowel.
It's understood that Gardaí intercepted a vehicle in the town and recovered a large quantity of cannabis and cocaine around 10pm.
As part of Operation Tara and other ongoing investigations, Gardaí from the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit and local Crime Unit have seized a significant quantity of drugs and arrested one man during the operation carried out in Listowel last night.
A large amount of cannabis and cocaine was recovered from the vehicle that Gardaí intercepted.
The interception occurred shortly after 10pm, and the seized drugs have an estimated street value of over €170,000.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene.
He is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996 at a Kerry Garda station.
The drugs will be sent for analysis to Forensic Science Ireland.
