A 22-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the false imprisonment and endangerment of a woman in North Kerry.
Muhammed Ahsan appeared at Cork District Court today.
Muhammad Ahsan- whose address cannot be reported by order of the court - was also charged with dangerous driving and the theft of a phone in the early hours of Sunday the 28th of September in Clieveragh Road, Listowel.
The endangerment charge alleges the front passenger door of a car was opened as the car merged onto the main road and was done in the knowledge the passenger was hanging out of the vehicle.
Detective Sgt Shane O’Driscoll said Ahsan replied ‘no’ to each of the four charges.
The Sgt also made an application that the alleged victim not be identified by reporters.
Defence solicitor Brendan Ahern said his client is not applying for bail today, but will be on his next appearance.
Judge Mary Dorgan remanded the accused in custody to appear at Listowel District Court on Thursday.
