Man accused of murdering Michael Gaine sent forward to stand trial

In breaking news, the man accused of murdering Kenmare farmer Mike Gaine has been sent forward for trial in the Central Criminal Court.

54-year-old Michael Kelley, who previously resided in Tralee, was sent forward at this morning's sitting of Tralee District Court.

He's accused of murdering Kenmare farmer Mike Gaine on 20th or 21st March 2025 at Carrig, Kenmare.

Mr Kelley was brought to Tralee District Court this morning from Cork Prison, where he is on remand.

His solicitor Pat Mann confirmed the book of evidence had been served on his client, and Judge David Waters sent him forward for trial to the next sittings of the Central Criminal Court.
