A 33-year-old man facing a string of criminal damage and assault charges at a Tralee IPAS centre is to be brought to court in person this week.
Yacine Kouidmi, with an address at Atlas House, McCowans Lane, Tralee, appeared via video link from Cork Prison at a recent sitting of Tralee District Court.
He faces six charges arising from an incident at the IPAS centre in which he resides.
Mr Kouidmi faces one charge of assault causing harm on a security guard at the Atlas House IPAS centre in the early hours of 30th July.
He is also accused of assaulting two other men at the same address, on the same date.
The 33-year-old is accused of causing around €1,000 worth of damage to Atlas House IPAS centre, allegedly damaging a balcony window and a cupboard shelf.
Mr Kouidmi also allegedly resisted and wilfully obstructed a garda who was carrying out their duties as peace officer at the scene.
At Tralee District Court, Sergeant Stephen O’Brien said directions from the DPP are still awaited.
Mr Kouidmi was in custody but with consent to bail provided he abide by strict conditions, and his solicitor Pádraig O’Connell said the state is verifying the address he had provided.
Among the other conditions he must satisfy, are that he does not attend Atlas House or come within 5km of it, as well as having no contact direct or indirect with the alleged injured parties.
Judge Marie Keane remanded him in continuing custody, with consent to bail, to this coming Thursday, when he will be brought to court in person.
