Low temperature and ice warning still in effect for Kerry but most main roads passable

A low temperature/ice warning remains in place for Kerry this morning until 11 o’clock.

Main roads around the county have been gritted by Kerry County Council crews, but secondary, regional, and local roads, and housing estates are said to be still icy in patches, with snow and ice lying on some routes.

The county bounds on the N22 are passable but people should exercise caution.

Gardaí have said that Hayes’ Bend at Aghatubrid in Waterville is dangerous this morning; it has been gritted but a car went in over the ditch there earlier, with no injuries reported.

Motorists all over the county are being urged to drive with caution and leave extra time for their journeys.
