Officially Opens New Arrivals Hall At Kerry Airport AN Taoiseach, Mr Micheál Martin T.D., has officially opened (10.30am) the new Arrivals Hall at Kerry Airport. This state-of-the-art facility first welcomed passengers into the Kingdom in March 2025 and includes enhanced Immigration and Customs areas, larger Baggage Belt, improved bathroom amenities and a modernised public foyer. It was part of a major multi-million-euro redevelopment at Kerry Airport which also included an extended and improved Departures Area which opened to passengers before the end of July. This extension offers increased seating capacity, a new smoking area, an additional Boarding Gate, upgraded toilet facilities, a Quiet Space (subject to availability) and expanded catering facilities - all part of the continued commitment to improving the Kerry Airport passenger experience. Work on the two-phase project, costing €5 million, commenced in September 2024 and was completed on schedule in July 2025. Kerry’s Sinn Féin TD has criticised what he says is a lack of Irish language signage in the new development at Kerry Airport.

The multi-million-euro development was officially opened by Taoiseach Micheál Martin this week, and includes a new arrivals hall and an upgraded departures area.

Kerry Airport has signage in Irish in other areas of the airport.

Kerry Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly has rejected criticism from Independent councillor Jackie Healy-Rae that he is weaponising the Irish language and undermining the airport’s successful development.

He says for an airport serving three Gaeltacht areas, it’s not good enough.

Deputy Daly did not attend the official opening on Monday at Kerry Airport, nor did he attend the recent official opening of the MTU’s new STEM building.

The Sinn Féin TD says often, these events are just publicity events for the government.
