Listowel Writers’ Week announces shortlisted for Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award

Listowel Writers’ Week has announced the titles shortlisted for this year’s Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award.

Scotland’s former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and acclaimed author Andrew O’Hagan selected the shortlist.

The five books nominated are:

• Conversation with the Sea by Hugo Hamilton

• The Wardrobe Department by Elaine Garvey

• Ordinary Saints by Niamh Ní Mhaoilchoin

• The Boy from the Sea by Garrett Carr

• Thirst Trap by Gráinne O’Hare.

The winner will be announced on the opening night of Writers’ Week on May 27th.
