€20,000 in funding has been announced to upgrade the playground in Listowel.
The upgrade will include level-access play equipment, which will help ensure children with diverse needs can avail of the benefits of play facilities.
The Listowel playground received the maximum funding available under the Capital Grant Scheme for Play and Recreation.
The announcement has been welcomed Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley, and her party colleague Kerry TD Michael Cahill.
Separately, Cathaoirleach of the Listowel MD, Cllr Jimmy Moloney, says funding of €35,000 to upgrade the outdoor exercise area for adults in the town park will enhance this fantastic amenity.
This upgraded outdoor exercise area will contain various pieces of exercise equipment on a rubberised surface.
