Limerick Chamber has welcomed the decision by the High Court to uphold the planning permission granted by An Coimisiún Pleanála for a 600-megawatt LNG power plant on the Tarbert Ballylongford landbank.
The chamber says the decision reflects this country's alignment with European energy policy on liquefied natural gas and claims it will help to bolster energy security.
It has described it as a landmark outcome following a lengthy planning and regulatory process.
Limerick Chamber has urged expediency when it comes to deciding on planning applications; it's called for the bringing forward of what it says is long-awaited liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal infrastructure.
