Leading Kerry HR expert hits out at populist rhetoric on remote working

A leading HR expert in Kerry has hit out at what he calls populist opinions on letting employees work from home due to the cost of fuel.

The government is set to issue advice to people on how to conserve fuel.

It follows comments from the EU Commissioner for Energy Dan Jorgensen that Europeans should work from home.

There have also been calls here in Ireland, including from the Labour Party, for employers to allow employees work from home due to the rising cost of getting to work.

Speaking on yesterday’s In Business show on Radio Kerry, Managing Director of HR Buddy, Damien McCarthy, said the government should support employers and employees.
