Eyes in the Kingdom will be on Los Angeles tonight, as Killarney's Jessie Buckley is in the running for a Golden Globe award.

The 36 year-old is up for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture in the drama category.

She has been nominated for her role in Hamnet, where she played the wife of William Shakespeare opposite Paul Mescal.

Earlier this week, Jessie Buckley was named best actress at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, often seen as an early indicator as to possible Oscar winners.

Speaking to Radio Kerry following her Golden Globe nomination in December, Jessie's father Tim Buckley spoke of the Irish involvement in the film:

The awards show, now in its 83rd year, is taking place in Los Angeles and will air live on CBS at 5pm California time, around 1am Irish time.
