A special podcast recording to mark the Hugh O’Flaherty Centenary Commemorations will be taking place in Killarney.
Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty grew up in Killarney and spent his last years in Cahersiveen.
He helped save the lives of some 6,500 Jewish people and Allied soldiers during the Second World War.
An Post has commissioned the Irish History Podcast to record a special podcast on the Monsignor’s story, that will be recorded on Wednesday October 15th in Killarney House at 7.30.pm.
To mark the Centenary of the Monsignor’s Ordination on December 1925, An Post will issue a Commemorative Stamp on October 23rd.
The stamp will be suitable for worldwide mailing, and will be availble for three months from the ate of issue.
