Kerry’s Mayor is calling for emergency funding to repair roads damaged by flooding in the south of the county.

Cllr Patrick Connor-Scarteen has visited locations around Kilgarvan that were impacted - Top of Coom, Incheese, Gortlahard, and the R569 Kilgarvan to Loo Bridge Road.

He’s thanking council outdoor staff for making the roads passable again for motorists, following torrential rain at the weekend.

The road at Coomolougha, however, is still impassable due to severe damage to the bridge.

Cllr Connor-Scarteen is calling on Kerry County Council to apply for emergency funding to repair this bridge and to resurface the other roads affected.
