Kerry VFI Chairman says some pubs are at risk of closure

Some pubs in Kerry will have to close a number of days a week or for good, because of the rising costs of energy.

That’s according to Christy Walsh, chairman of the Kerry branch of the Vintners’ Federation of Ireland (VFI).

Mr Walsh says pubs across the county are also concerned that recent rate valuations will lead to an increase in rates.

He says pubs are exploring different options to tackle costs this winter.
