The Law Society of Ireland has invited Transition Year students in Kerry to enter a competition exploring the topic of online freedom of speech.
The Gráinne O’Neill Legal Essay Competition is a school outreach programme aimed at expanding access to the law and legal education for young people.
To enter, students must submit a 1,500-word essay on the topic, “Protecting Voices, Preventing Harm: Legal Challenges in Online Freedom of Speech” by Friday November 21st
Last year, 350 students from 52 schools across the country entered the competition, honoring the life and legacy of the late Judge Gráinne O’Neill
Last year, Presentation Secondary School Listowel student, Hazel Barrett, was the winner of the competition.
