Kerry is to receive €118,000 under the latest round of the Disability and Participation Awareness Fund.
Minister for Children, Disabilty, Equality and Kerry T.D Norma Foley has today announced €118,000 in funding for stroke survivors in Kerry.
With the money, Cork Stroke Support will deliver an evidence-base exercise programme to help survivors in Kerry as well as in Cork and Waterford.
The Disability Participation and Awareness Fund (DPAF) supports people with disabilities participate in local activities, thereby removing barriers to community involvement.
In total, the fund will distribute over €2.8 million to such projects nationwide.
Minister Foley says these projects offer people with disabilities of all ages opportunities to reach their true potential.
Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill and Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly have welcomed the announcement.
