Kerry will host a meeting of European Union Ministers and agencies in November.
The informal meeting will be held at Munster Technological University in Tralee, as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the EU Council.
Discussions will focus on the equality of opportunity for women and girls, and also on advancing disability rights.
Minister Norma Foley will chair the meeting, which will be attended by EU Ministers responsible for Equality and Disability, leaders from the EU commission, and EU agencies and civil rights organisations.
Minister Foley says the event is a significant milestone as it will be the first time in 22 years that Ministers from across Europe will come together in Kerry.
