Kerry TDs asked over 2,000 Dail questions in 2025

Kerry TDs asked over 2,000 parliamentary questions in 2025.

These are questions submitted by deputies to government departments which are very often specific to issues of concern to individual constituents.

According to figures obtained by Radio Kerry News, the deputy who tabled most questions in the period was Fianna Fáil’s Michael Cahill.

The figures do not include questions asked as part of Dáil Debates on legislation or those asked during leaders’ questions.

Deputy Cahill put down a total of 1,283 questions to ministers between January and the Dáil recess in December.

He was followed by Deputy Pa Daly of Sinn Féin who tabled 628 questions.

The third highest number of parliamentary questions came from Independent Michael Healy-Rae with a total of 566. Deputy Healy-Rae became Minster for State for the Department of Agriculture food and the Marine on the 29th of January this year.

Independent Deputy Danny Healy-Rae put down 132 Parliamentary questions to ministers.

Minister Norma Foley as part of her role as Minister for Education and Minister for Children answered a total of 1,053 questions from Dáil deputies this year.
