Kerry TD says Michael Healy-Rae sought government clarification on ahead of confidence motion

A Kerry Fianna Fáil TD says was disappointed with the government’s response to the fuel protests.

Michael Cahill says he supported the protests, but was not in favour of the port blockades.

He believes the government should have handled it better, but believes it has learned lessons from it.

However, Deputy Cahill says he will remain in government as being at the table is the best way to deliver for the county.

Michael Cahill says he was aware Danny Healy-Rae was going to vote against the government, but didn’t see Michael’s decision coming.

He states it’s his understanding that Michael Healy-Rae sought clarification to his position ahead of yesterday’s confidence motion:
