A Kerry TD has criticised the government for what he describes as "unacceptable delays" in the publication of the Wind Energy Guidelines.

Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly feels we need to increase our renewable energy ambition, after the recent High Court decision to completely shut down three wind turbines in Co Wexford due to noise nuisance.

This is despite a recent EPA report highlighing Ireland's shortcomings in relation to onshore and offshore wind, as well as electric vehicles and district heating.

Deputy Daly says there have been unacceptable delays with regards to the guidelines since 2013, and although a draft report was published in 2019, it was never finalised.

The Kerry TD said that it's vital that we increase our renewable energy ambition, however this must be done in line with proper planning and guidelines.
