A Kerry TD fears that the county will only have one superintendent overseeing crime and enforcement.

Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly says elements of the Commission on the Future of Policing report are due to be implemented later this year, with one proposal being to rearrange the duties of garda superintendents in Kerry.

Currently, there are garda superintendents in the Listowel, Tralee and Killarney districts.

Deputy Daly believes the proposed change will result in Tralee having two superintendents, one covering community policing, with the other having responsibility for crime and enforcement countywide.

Deputy Pa Daly understands the third superintendent will be based in Killarney and will focus on governance.
