A Kerry TD has criticised the high number of unpaid payments in the county for an environmental scheme to improve rural development.
The Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme, or ACRES payment rewards farmers for improving environmental outcomes like biodiversity and climate action.
However, Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly has deemed the high number of unpaid ACRES payments in Kerry as "unacceptable".
Deputy Daly was told that there are 308 people still waiting on ACRES scheme in Kerry, with 26 of these payments outstanding since 2023.
This was following a query to the minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Deputy Daly reiterated that Sinn Féin has made repeated calls for urgent action to resolve this issue, stating that it undermines the whole vision of the scheme.
