A Kerry TD has called for the traditions of Puck Fair to be continued and honoured this year.
Michael Cahill is urging that licensing hours and late closing times in Killorglin’s pubs be continued.
The Fianna Fáil deputy says the 3am closure is hugely important to the success of Ireland’s oldest festival, which takes place on August 10th, 11th and 12th.
He states that Puck Fair has been organised superbly for over 400 years in this context, and is calling for common sense to prevail.
Deputy Cahill says he will be raising the matter with the Justice Minister, Jim O’Callaghan.
