A Kerry TD has called for increased funding for residential places and respite for adults with intellectual disabilities across the county.
Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly has said families in Kerry are under immense pressure caring for their adult children.
He said the primary concern comes from older parents, who worry what will happen their children, when they are no longer here.
Deputy Daly highlighted services in Cahersiveen and North Kerry as under-resourced, and said facilities such as St.Mary of the Angels in Beaufort are under-utilised.
He called for existing services to be open for longer and respite provision to be expanded.
