Kerry TD calls for 0% VAT rate for insulation products in the budget

A Kerry TD says the VAT rate on insulation products should be reduced to zero in the upcoming budget.

Michael Healy-Rae says this needs to happen, if the Government is serious about supporting the ambitious retrofitting programme announced in the National Development Plan.

Currently the VAT rate on attic and cavity wall insulation or homes is 13.5%.

Independent Deputy Michael Healy-Rae believes this needs to be 0%.
