A Kerry senator says work will begin on the Listowel flood relief scheme before the Harvest racing festival later this month.
Fine Gael senator Mike Kennelly says the preparatory phases will commence before the festival kicks off on the 21st September.
He made the announcement before the Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW, Kevin “Boxer” Moran’s, planned visit to Kerry next week.
The works are in response to devastating flooding in Listowel and Kilocrim last November (24/11/2024).
