Kerry has been selected for Fáilte Ireland’s national “Home of Halloween” pilot scheme.
The information was provided to councillors at a recent meeting of Kerry County Council.
The county is one of five nationally to be selected for the programme following the local authority’s “Samhain Chiarraí – A Kerry Halloween” proposal.
The initiative aims to deliver a county-wide Halloween and Samhain-themed programme during October and November until 2027.
Kerry County Council will receive up to €100,000 per year to support the community-led celebrations.
