A secondary school in Kerry will receive a new special education class.
It’s part of 41 additional classes nationwide sanctioned by the Department of Education for the 2026/27 academic year.
Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine in Kenmare has been included in the latest tranche of schools.
It brings to 17 the number of special classes approved for Kerry in 2026, and 301 nationally.
The announcement has been welcomed by Children’s Minister Norma Foley, Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill, Independent Deputy Danny Healy-Rae, and Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly.
In total the number of special classes in primary and post primary schools in Kerry for the upcoming school year is 129.
