Kerry recorded the highest amount of rainfall in Ireland last month.
That’s according to Met Éireann’s climate statement for December.
It shows 198.2mm of rain was recorded at Valentia Observatory, 10% over it’s long-term average (LTA) for the month.
Nine very wet days were logged in the county last month, these are days with 10 or more millimetres of rainfall.
12 dull days were recorded at the South Kerry weather station; a dull day is one with less than half an hour of sunshine.
Meanwhile, the temperature at Valentia Observatory in December was 0.2 degrees below its LTA, at 7.9 degrees.
