People in Kerry have been scammed out of thousands of euro in the last week through hoax phone calls and texts.
Gardaí say five different phone scams have been brought to their attention in the last week, of which people have fallen victim.
One person was scammed out of around two thousand euro, with others having had hundreds taken from their accounts.

Garda Patricia Fitzpatrick says people should always be vigilant and remember to pause and take a second before doing anything arising from a random phone call or text from someone claiming to be from the bank.
