Daffodil Day takes place today, with collections being held throughout Kerry for the Irish Cancer Society.
It's the biggest fundraiser of the year for the society, whose work is only partially funded by the State.
Last year alone, its free counselling service provided over 14,000 counselling sessions to help people cope with a cancer diagnosis.
In addition, almost 6,000 nights of palliative night nursing were given to patients, so they could pass away in the comfort of their own homes.
