A Kerry mother has praised healthcare workers for saving her four-year-old son’s life.
Naomi and Simon Costelloe from Caragh Lake’s four-year-old son, David, experienced a severe and sudden asthma attack last Saturday.
He temporarily stopped breathing, making it almost impossible to administer medicine.
They have thanked the 999 operator, an off-duty paramedic Shane Buckley who was first to respond to the call, the ambulance crew Greg Twomey and Adele Jennings, and the staff in UHK.
Naomi says she is extremely proud of Ireland’s healthcare practitioners:
An advanced paramedic from Killorglin and volunteer off-duty responder, Shane Buckley, heard the call for assistance.
Shane was first to arrive at the scene and managed to administer some medicine to David before ambulance crew arrived.
