Kerry native says Arts Council have taken steps to ensure IT system failures aren't repeated

The Arts Council has expressed its "regret" over millions in public money spent on a failed IT project.

Its outgoing director, Maureen Kennelly, who’s from Ballylongford says action is being taken to improve its processes.

Almost €6.7 million was spent on the project, which aimed to integrate multiple outdated other systems.

Members of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee have today criticised the handling of the IT project, which began in 2017.

In response, Ms Kennelly said steps have since been taken to ensure such failures are not repeated.
