A North Kerry mother has criticised the Department of Education over the lack of notice and provision of school bus seats.
Ann Marie O’Connell, who’s from Duagh, says she was only informed last Friday that her children would not be given a seat on the bus to Listowel.
She has discovered fifteen children in the area are set to miss out and are now forced to find other means of transport to school.
Ms O’Connell says she booked and paid for the service in April; and only received eleven days’ notice that her children won’t have bus seats.
She asks why the authorities would wait until August to inform families, when they would have known the bus numbers months ago:
Radio Kerry has contacted the Department of Education and Bus Éireann for comment.
