Kerry MEP says Irish people to benefit from EU move on instant bank transfers

A Kerry MEP says Irish people will particularly benefit from an EU-wide move to bring in instant bank transfers.

The European Parliament will this week vote on instant cash transfers in euro, and banks will then be required to bring in this measure for their customers.

Ireland South MEP Sean Kelly says waiting up to three days to have money transferred makes no sense in a digital world.

He said this move is welcome, especially for Irish bank customers.
