A Kerry MEP says Irish farmers' fears over Mercosur are exaggerated.
Last week a majority of EU member states voted in favour of the deal, which will now go back to MEPs to have their say.
Ireland voted against the deal last week - as promised in the Programme for Government.
Farmers here are concerned about the standard of beef which will be imported from South American countries, if the agreement is approved.
