Kerry has been listed among the worst places in the country for power cuts per head of population.
That’s according to figures in the Irish Daily Mail, obtained under Freedom of Information.
It shows that homes and businesses in rural areas, including Tralee and Killarney, are more likely to be effected by power cuts than cities.
Over 68,000 (68,323) customers were affected by 781 power outages in Tralee last year. 49,002 ESB customers are located in the area.
The figures show there were 867 outages recorded in Killarney in 2024, with more than 72,000 (72,108) customers without power. 49,854 ESB customers are located in this region.
According to the figures, customers in the Longford area were worst affected by electricity blackouts nationwide last year.
