Kerry has ninth highest level of GPs per capita

Kerry is the county with the ninth highest level of GPs per capita.

That’s according to a report in the Irish Times collated using data from the Irish College of GPs and the CSO (Central Statistics Office) (CSO).

Its shows GP shortages are most acute in commuter belt and rural counties.

Monaghan has the lowest GP coverage per capita, with 50 general practitioner doctor per 100,000 people, followed by Roscommon (59), Kilkenny (64), Meath (67), and Kildare (59).

Sligo tops the list of GP coverage per capita, with 121 GPs per 100,000 population, followed by Westmeath (115), Galway (105), Waterford (96) and Dublin (95).

Kerry sits firmly mid-table in ninth position with 85 GPs per 100,000 people.
